Over the last 25 years, Creascience has established a strong reputation in the development of innovative training methods and creative knowledge transfer. Since 2000, we have developed an extensive training catalog of sessions in statistics and we have training thousands of scientists, engineers, biologists, chemists, medical science liaisons, etc. worldwide. We have designed our training courses to maximise learnings and increase self-sufficiency in the use of statistical methods.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the surge of remote work has led us to reinvent and redesign our learning tools. We have revisited our most popular sessions to turn them into digestible remote learning sessions and to put in place a whole new strategy making the most out of online tools. Still, what made our sessions so appreciated and effective remains at the core of our teaching strategy: small class size, avoiding jargon, using your own case studies…

Online sessions fitting in your schedule

One of the major drawbacks of in-site training had to do with blocking entire teams during complete days. On top of that, integrating many new concept and practices over such a long period was a challenge for most attendees. To address these issues he most important change we introduced with online sessions consisted of limiting the length of each session to 2 to 2.5 hours at most.

Furthermore, the frequency of these sessions can be adjusted as needed. We have conducted programs with a few sessions per week as well as other where attendees participated in monthly sessions.

Making Online Training Fun & Productive

Interaction with the instructor always was a cornerstone of our training approach. Therefore, participation from the attendees is strongly encouraged through hands-on exercises and group discussions. As a matter of fact, each session starts with a questions and answers period.

it is also quite frequent to integrate in the training sequence purely interactive sessions, for instance in order to discuss in-depth the application of previously introduced concepts in the context of a client”s case study.

Giving some continuity to the training

Once again in contrast with day-long onsite training sessions, splitting the content over several weeks allows having more homogenous material discussed within one workshop and more time to integrate it.

In order to facilitate the learning process, the instructor also provides the attendees with a few exercises and questions to answer for the next session.

Focusing on Statistical Thinking

  • Throughout all our training sessions, we put focus on developing statistical thinking– a way of thinking about how data are used to make decisions and predictions in the presence of variation that exists in every situation.
  • Emphasis is put on debunking statistical jargon & methods. Virtually no equations are used.
  • Critical presentation of methods is advocated. The scope and limitations of the methods are always discussed.

A Strong Focus on Addressing Corporate Needs

The transformation of our face to face sessions into an online format was thought with corporate clients in mind. There are many advantages for business and research entities to organize their own sessions, the most important being listed below, so that these sessions are now almost exclusively offered to groups within the same entity.

Team Work

Entire teams or departments can be trained together. Hands-on exercises and case studies are designed to facilitate group discussions and ensure that everybody has the opportunity to contribute.

Cost Efficiency

Even with a small number of trainees, our Corporate training sessions cost less per person than public courses.

Confidentiality

The confidential atmosphere of our sessions gives participants the freedom to discuss openly problems and situations they might not feel comfortable discussing in public sessions.
